daily update: the greek economy is like greek yogurt

well, the greek drama is at its conclusion.  the u.s. stock market is still volatile despite people cheering last week that the tide is over.  as eknme said, it was far too early to count our chickens quite yet. the u.s. will release its jobless claims report today, and it should be about the same as previous.  not much has changed with president obama in charge.  most definitely a change in presidency is needed and should boost the economy, if just temporarily.

the greek economy is like greek yogurt, the kind of that has been sitting on the counter too long and turning sour or already has.  no matter how you sugarcoat it, the greek situation is a bad one for europe with ramifications in the far east and u.s. markets.  the u.s. and japan have scraped out of their situation, but it can happen again should the right events happen at the right time. this non-chalant country of greece could be such a catalyst.

the u.s. economy is like greek yogurt, cultured but stagnant.  it is thick and mired in itself.  with most americans resorting to isolation, this may not be the best time to become xenophobic.  it’s time to open the lid.

now to our morning coffee — and yogurt…
