the government is corrupt. taxes are high. government officials are high. yet a fair majority of us still believe in the dream, the image that “your vote counts.” even in rebellion, like the occupy movement a while back, that was directly influenced by left-wing politicians at their beckoning call. in the same manner, with the tea party, it was served by the right-wing party and even the tea party became an official part of the right-wing main-stream politics.
yeah, we heard this also. a nice guilt-trip based on faulty logic to an extent. if you don’t vote, all of the sudden you’re the bad guy. if you don’t vote, it’s probably because all the policies the politicians want to institute are lies or half-truths. being autonomous and independent is scorned upon during election season.
follow the sheep.
follow them off the cliff.
we are already in the era of skepticism with the fall of the gen-x heroes — michael jordan, lance armstrong, various wwe wrestlers, etc. etc. the list is ever growing. politicians have been in this lot for a while. voting on the national level won’t change things much. it will still remain corrupt. taxes will grow ever higher with or without your vote.
on a state level or even more, local level, things can change drastically. eknme will concede on that. new york is a prime example with the recent changes in law that have had a domino effect in other states.
when it’s your time to vote, the choice to vote remain yours. do not succumb to peer pressure. independence is to be valued in the united states.
independence is the american dream, not overindulgent politics.
