baby boomer effect part 3: the parent trap

Parent_Trap_Spotlight

in an ideal world, the baby boomers should be able to take care of themselves with the monies from social security and retirement.  all the baby boomers will live in their own gated communities with occasional visits from the millennials.  then again, some are luckier than others.

the blue-collar families will be hit the hardest in eknme’s opinion. unions in the future won’t have that much leverage as their workforce of millennials will be significantly smaller. without that much of an impact means the contracts will have far less value which means far less money which means far less wages. kind of hurts, doesn’t it?  with the ever rising college tuition, compounding with inflation, the millennials will be stuck between a rock and a hard place with no breathing room. and if the millennials have children, it will even further compound the financial problem that they’re in.

the white-collar families and the already wealthy should be better. white-collar families will presumably push their families into more white-collar professions.  and the already wealthy should be able to maintain a steady flow through thick and thins of the economy.

at some point, the millennials will have to take care of their parents.  the question is: will they have the money to do so?  it’s looking grim through the looking glass as of right now.

unless eknme is looking through a fractured lens, what do you think?
