mr. robot and the pilot: we’re one keystroke away from a broken world

this usa original television series has an interesting premise as one hacker has the possibility of changing the world. kind of like hackers  meets fight club in its moral philosophy meets the matrix in its paranoia. imagine upsetting the one-percenters that dominate the economy today.  in fact, we’re met with mr. robot‘s version of the serving-size speech from fight club in minute 12 of the pilot. we’ve already experienced the fallout of the one-percenters from the fall of enron to the housing bubble to the global recession.  with christian slater as mr. robot and rami malek as elliot, the lone wolf of a programmer, it’s bound to raise some heads from television slumber.

the E from E Corp is funny in that it resembles the E in enron, the mighty corporation that fell, and with hints of Apple Corporation with the logo branding on tablets and computers.

and elliot, at least in the pilot, seems to have a heart of gold for those closest to him.  he might not do it in the most elegant way, but it’s his way of saving his “friends” from disaster.

now it is up to his keystroke to determine whether the Evil Corp embraces a downfall. or not.
